FEES & INSURANCE

what you will actually pay.

This practice is out-of-network. That means no insurance pre-authorizations, no utilization reviews and no session limits set by a claims department. The work belongs to you and the clinician, not a coverage policy.

What you will find here is a complete, plain-language breakdown of every cost associated with this practice. No surprises.

INSURANCE & OUT-OF-NETWORK

This practice is fully out-of-network, meaning insurance is never billed directly. While I don't accept your insurance directly, your plan may have out-of-network (OON) benefits, which means your insurance will reimburse you for a large portion of our session cost.

If you do have OON benefits, I have partnered with Thrizer to handle the out-of-network process automatically for you. They will take care of submitting and managing the claims for you, so you don't have to worry about submitting superbills. Once you meet your deductible, you also have the option to pay a reduced fee for our sessions, instead of needing to pay my full rate and waiting for a reimbursement check.

Please use the widget (to the right) to check whether you have OON benefits and what your approximate expected fee would be post deductible.

This practice makes no guarantee of insurance reimbursement. You are responsible for the full session fee at the time of service regardless of coverage.

YOU MAY BE

reimbursed.

SLIDING SCALE

A small number of reduced-fee slots are held specifically for early-career providers, volunteers and trainees; the service providers who are often most in need of this kind of support and least able to access it at standard rates.

This is not a general income-based sliding scale. It is a specific, limited commitment to a specific population. If you are an early-career service provider, volunteer or graduate trainee and cost is a genuine barrier, bring it up during the consultation.

Direct conversations are part of the process, but they will always be respectful and will never affect how you are treated here.

cost should not

be the barrier.

PRE-LICENSED/CERTIFIED OR VOLUNTEER SERVICE PROVIDERS

Associate, volunteer or intern level service providers working towards licensure or certification

 graduate trainees

Associate, volunteer or intern level service providers working towards licensure or certification

 early-career service providers

Newly licensed/certified providers within the first two years of independent practice/service, for whom the standard rate poses a meaningful hardship.

Sliding scale slots are limited and not guaranteed. Availability, minimum fee and eligibility are determined at the clinician’s discretion. Reduced-fee arrangements are documented in writing as part of the Informed Consent.

CANCELLATION POLICY

what happens if you

need to cancel.

MORE THAN 48 HOURS

NO CHARGE

Cancellations made more than 48 hours before your scheduled session are free of charge. The session can be rescheduled without penalty. Life happens. This is not a punitive policy.

LESS THAN 48 HOURS

FULL SESSION FEE

Late cancellations, within 48 hours of the session, are charged the full $280 session fee. This time was held for you and cannot be filled on short notice. Documented emergencies are handled with discretion.

NO SHOW

FULL SESSION FEE

Sessions missed without notice are charged the full $280 session fee. If something unexpected happens, reach out as soon as possible. This policy exists to protect the clinical relationship, not to punish.

Out-of-network therapy creates space for care that is tailored, confidential and free from insurance-driven limitations. The focus remains on meaningful clinical work rather than coverage criteria.

WHen is payment due?

Payment is due at the time of each session. A card is kept on file securely through the practice management platform. You will not be invoiced separately.

Will the fee ever change?

Fees are reviewed annually. If the rate changes, you will receive a minimum of 30 days’ written notice before any increase takes effect.

What payment methods are accepted?

Major credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Amex, Discover), HSA cards, and FSA cards. All payments are processed securely through a HIPAA-compliant platform. No cash or checks.

can i use my hsa or fsa?

Yes. HSA and FSA cards are accepted and can be used to pay session fees directly. Psychotherapy is a qualified medical expense under both plans.

what if i can’t afford the standard rate?

If you are an early-career service provider, trainee or volunteer for whom cost is a genuine barrier, bring it up during the free consultation.  See the sliding scale section of this page for eligibility details.
